  20. Purpose • Collaboration between education and employers • Develop or enhance a technical education program of study • Expand professional growth and career opportunities for students

  21. Purpose • Meet workforce needs in high wage and high demand jobs • Support achievement of the high school diploma

  22. Priorities • Diverse number of students • Diverse geographic locations • Committed and sustained collaboration between business, industry, labor and education providers

  23. Budget Notes - 2013 • Award grants totaling at least $1 million to be used for CTE projects directly involving CTE Student Organizations. • Award at least $1 million in grants to be used for CTE projects that have a clear tie-in to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

  24. Financial Resources • $7,500,000 appropriated by Legislature • 95% for grants. • 5% for administration • Funds must by used by June 30, 2015
