Co-operative Learning Lesson 2: “Circular Pairs”(Calculate the Change Due from Different Amounts of Money) • Each participant ensures that they are an expert on their card before beginning. • Starting with the inside circle, introduce yourselves and then take turns at answering each other’s question. • When not answering a question your “Role” is to support, encourage & praise. • Before moving on, please thank your partner. . . (begin again).

Co-operative Learning Lesson 4 - “Talking Chips” (Class-Building Activity) Giving the Definitions of Profit & Loss • Please take your coloured card and form a group of two, three or four and take turns to discuss your “Talking Chip” • When everyone in your group is an expert on their “Talking Chip” everyone raises their card

This is your “Hometeam”

Co-operative Learning Round Robin Share(Team-Building Activity) Social Skill : To Listen Attentively to Your Team Starting with the team member who has travelled the farthest to attend this conference and then proceeding clockwise, share: • Your Name • Your School and Role • Your Favourite Memory from your Summer Holiday

Co-operative Learning Lesson 4-Processing Academic Task • Academic Task: I Can Give the Definitions of Profit & Loss • Resources:“Team Rule” table-tent for each group • Each team must agree on their Definitions for Profit & Loss. • Person 1 = Resource Manager • Person 2 = Writer • Person 3 = Timer • Person 4 = Encourager Time for task = 4 minutes.

Co-operative Learning Lesson 4 - Processing Social Skills • Social Skills: To Take Turns & To Check for Understanding • Think to yourself : • ~ did you Take Turns as instructed? • ~ did you help everyone to Understand your “Talking Chip”? • Use “Roman Rating” or “Thinking Thumbs” to assess your use of today’s social skills

Co-operative Learning Lesson 6 “Simultaneous Rotate & Check” Calculating Income, Outgoings & Checking Affordability • All team members do all calculations and write out all working for each scenario card following the Sequence of the Activity: • Calculate Total Income, Rotate paper, Check • Calculate Total Outgoings, Rotate paper, Check • Calculate Money Left Over, Rotate paper, Check • Decision Maker, Rotate paper, Check • Team members take turns reading out a card • Teams progress through the calculations and decision making for that card • Teams repeat this process until all four scenario cards have been answered
