Vision for MatCHNet • Develop a multidisciplinary community • Prioritise national policy interventions that could impact maternal and child health, and health inequalities • Subsequent improvements to chronic disease outcomes • Effective period to intervene • Harnessing administrative data in four UK countries • Rigorous methodology required to undertake evaluations • Determine priorities for future research and evaluations

Plans for the network • Establish an online presence of MatCHNet and identify wider network members • Series of sequential events • 5-6 workshops, ‘hackathon’ for data documentation, paper-sprint for methods consolidation working paper • Establish an online resource documenting data availability • 4 UK countries, cross-sectoral, timelines • Conduct proof-of-concept analyses of variation in policies between countries • Develop grant funding applications to evaluate national policies • co-produced with decision makers and users

  5. Pump priming funds • Undertake work to inform future grant applications on areas identified by the network, including partners and key users • Two-day event for network members to form collaborations to develop potential research proposals • Key users of the research will be there to co-develop the research questions and join collaborations
