  2. Importance of this meeting • Great opportunity to be introduced to the ELI-beam community • Maybe the start of new contacts with ELI in general • Strategically important • First meeting with TRIUMF representative: Welcome!

  3. Some stats… • 7314 fuid(s). There are a few test cases (Pippo, Topolino, personally I appear two times plus another couple of attempts using a nickname…) • 6876 download allowed. • 430 access to be decided • 17 NEA users • 1 Trial version allowed (New! as decided at the last meeting) • 123 source allowed • 33 Occasional Consultancy • How many people really download and update FLUKA? • How many people are really using FLUKA?

  4. Evolution of FLUKA downloads I can produce numers from 2009 to 2012. Unfortunately in Jan 2013, during the change of system version the automatic registration of Download Date was lost (until two days ago). In the period 1-17 January 2013 > 200 registrations

  5. 7. To be discussed / Pending issues since last Meeting Collaboration Management • the mandate of the non ex-officio members of the FSC expires with year end (proposal by Alfredo). • web site and mailing list • FLUKA courses of 2014 • final decision on next release • is it possible to have a repository for the “FLUKA collaboration” version of the code? PHYSICS (suggestions collected by Alberto) • Electro-nuclear reactions • Photofission • Since the last meeting: muon e-productiion. FLUKA-GEANT differences? • New dpmject (Alfredo’s talk should include it) • New conversion coefficients for dose ambient equivalente • Biasing improvement • …..

  8. Considerations for future financing in the longer term • European FP7 project is ending • For instance: In 2014 ENVISION European project for imaging in hadrontherapy will arrive to its end • On this theme it will be hard to find new financing from Europe (FP7 allowed to have some young people contributing…) • Unless strong lobbying will be put in action, Horizon2020 is not initially considering calls on the subject • Is there some direction which can be valuable for FLUKA in future projects with external funding (with respect to ordinary programs of our institutions)? This might be crucial to find resources for young people… Is ELI a possibility?
