  4. Standing and Visually Impaired Classes Considerations fast downhills with curves & corners can be difficult or unsafe for VI shorter loops that VI can more easily become familiar with course reduction of A climb (LW classes – no poles) TC in low range (eg 150-180m for 5km) gg

  5. Sitting Classes Can not follow FIS Homologation due to sitting position and double poling propulsion only gg

  6. Sitting Classes Course TC MC HD Hills Competition 3.0 km 35-65 15 40 1 – 2 A hills, 2 – 4 B hills 12k,15k,Bt 2.5 km 30-60 15 40 0 – 1 A hills, 1 – 3 B hills 5k,10k,relay, Bt 2.0 km 25-55 15 40 0 – 1 A hills, 1 – 3 B hills Bt only 800 m 0 - 30 15 Sprint WC : In case the above mentioned courses aren’t available, the following courses can also be used. 5 km 60 - 120 15 50 1 - 2 A hills, 3 – 6 B hills 5k,10k,15k 3.75 45-70 15 40 1 – 2 A hills, 2 – 4 B hills 15k gg

  7. Sitting Classes Considerations Uphill steepness is critical – max grade & length! Downhills < 12-14% with straight runouts or small uphills to break speed, avoid fast curves Corners and turns should be placed where speed is slow – including flats & stadium - minimum 15m radius Banking can help in sharp high speed turns Flat trails (no side slope!) Rolling courses better than flat courses Minimum course widths: 3m (2 tracks) gg

  8. Stadium Layouts gg

  9. Stadium Layouts Skiing through stadium less important Space for standing and sit ski courses Biathlon range incl 150m penalty loop gg
