  1. Answering Doctrinal Questions (Part 2) Stan Crowley But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; (1 Pet 3:15 NKJV)

  2. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • Yes (Exo 20:11 NKJV) For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, … • For example, there are many instances of footprints—clearly human footprints—in layers of the earth that represent historical periods when man was just not supposed to be there. 2

  3. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • Albert C. Ingalls (an evolutionist) noted: “If man, or even his ape ancestor, or even the ape ancestor’s early mammal ancestor, existed as far back as in the carboniferous period in any shape, then the whole science of geology is so completely wrong that all geologists will resign their jobs and take up truck driving. 3

  4. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • Yes • Archeologists have found early drawings of dinosaurs (along with other animals) that could only have been drawn by someone who had seen one. This would be difficult if the dinosaurs were extinct about 250 million years before man arrived on the scene (as the evolutionists claim). 4

  5. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • Why is the word dinosaur not in the Bible? • By 1842 scientists concluded that a whole class of huge, lizard-like reptiles had lived. • He named them “dinosaurs” (from the Greek words deinos and sauros—“terribly great lizards”). • The word dinosaur is based on Greek root word components, but it did not exist before 1842 as a Greek word or any other kind of word! 5

  6. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • In Job 40:15-24 we find the behemoth. • He eats grass like an ox. • He is strong, with powerful stomach muscles. • His tail is like a cedar. • No man can approach him with a sword. • If we saw one, we could probably say “there is a dinosaur.” 6

  7. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • In Job 41:1-34 we find the leviathan. • Cannot be tamed. • He “beholds every high thing.” • He is able to raise himself up. • He cannot be killed with a sword or arrow. • His underside is tough. • If we saw one, we could probably say “there is a dinosaur.” 7

  8. 5. Did people and dinosaurs live on earth at the same time? • Then there are these intriguing verses: (Job 41:18 NKJV) His sneezings flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. (Job 41:19 NKJV) Out of his mouth go burning lights; Sparks of fire shoot out. (Job 41:20 NKJV) Smoke goes out of his nostrils, As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. (Job 41:21 NKJV) His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes out of his mouth. • Dinosaurs had cavities connected by tubes to noses; see Bombardier Beetle. 8

  9. 6. Do the Scriptures teach that there were six literal 24 hour days to creation? • Yes. (Gen 1:5 NKJV) … the evening and the morning were the first day. {1,2,3,4,5,6} • The day=age theory has severe problems. • Too much darkness for plants. • Some animals (fifth day) are needed for plant (third day) procreation (e.g. pollination). 9

  10. 6. Do the Scriptures teach that there were six literal 24 hour days to creation? • The literal day is basis of covenant. (Exo 20:8-11 NKJV) "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. … For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. … (Exo 31:17 NKJV) 'It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ 10

  11. 7. Are the church and the kingdom the same institution? • The words “church” and “kingdom” are often used to refer to the same thing. (Mat 16:18-19 NKJV) … and on this rock I will build My church, … And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, … (Eph 5:5 NKJV) … in the kingdom of Christ and God. (Eph 5:24-25 NKJV) … the church is subject to Christ, …Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 11

  12. 7. Are the church and the kingdom the same institution? • The word “kingdom” is not always used synonymously with the word “church.” • Those already in the church are sometimes spoken of as not yet in the “kingdom.” (2 Pet 1:11 NKJV) … an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom … (Acts 14:22 NKJV) … exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” 12
