  2. Physical therapy clinics • Physical Therapy clinics offer an array of different techniques, soft wares, and equipment. • This items can range for a small as a resistance band to as big as cardio equipment such as treadmills.

  3. So what do we need to run a successful Physical Therapy Practice?

Stability & Stretching Equipment • Foam Rollers • One of the most essential pieces of equipment would have to be the use of foam rollers. • There are used in injuries to the spine for stabilization. • They can be used for deep stretching especially for muscles that tend to be hard to stretch • Ex. Tensor Fascia Lata. • They come in an assortment of sizes and can be used on patients no matter the weight size, which can be very beneficial. • Prices range for 10- 40 dollars depending on size.

Upper Body Equipment • SciFit PRO1 Upper Body Ergometer • This machine can offer a variety of different exercises, including cardio and strengthening. • This piece of equipment is great for upper body injuries, especially ones that involve the shoulder. • They can also be used to stabilize and strengthen core muscles. • It’s a must for any rehabilitation Center. Price: 4,000- 5,000 dollars.

Aquatic Exercise equipment • Most Rehabilitation Centers now offer an aquatics center for those patients who are unable to perform weight bearing exercises. • This equipment can range from water weight (dumbbells), gloves, flippers, and kickboards. • The one piece you might find most beneficial is the Aqua Jogger Belt. • Price Range for this type of equipment can be anywhere between 5-100 dollars depending on what you purchase.

  7. Exercise Balls Every Rehabilitation Center should have at least five exercise balls including ones of different size and shape. This can include medicine balls, peanut balls and ball chairs. These balls can promote flexibility, coordination, motor skills, strengthening, and balance. Especially helpful for those who have in juried their backs, stroke victims, and those with balancing I issues. Price Range Depending on Size of Ball 20-150 dollars.

Electrotherapy/Iontophoresis • Most software you will be using will be those for electrotherapy, heat therapy, and cold therapy. • This piece of software has electrotherapy function as well as a function for ultrasound. • This is important for muscle stimulation to help maintain muscle strength while keeping the injury immobilized. • Helping the patient to regain strength without having to bear weight of injury themselves further. Price Range: 2,000-5,000 dollars, depending on the functions of the software, more functions more money!
