Taking a closer look… • Standard II: Learning and Teaching • Assist teachers in utilizing technology to analyze needs of students, plan curriculum, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners. • Professional development activities are collaboratively designed for all staff to improve learning and teaching with technology. Administrators participates in professional development activities and supports teacher involvement.

One performance indicator • Educational Leaders: provide for and ensure that faculty and staff take advantage of quality professional learning opportunities for improved learning and teaching with technology. Activity Ideas: • Schedule sharing time at the beginning of staff meetings for technology implementation strategies. • Provide professional development on LID days during building time. • Cover classes for teachers to observe their peers integrating technology. • Be a resource for grants and funding for training opportunities outside the school day. • Encourage teachers to participate in classes offered through the IMD.

  6. How does this performance indicator support improved teaching and learning? • Professional development gives the teachers skills and training needed to successfully integrate technology into teaching and learning.

  7. How could this performance indicator be incorporated into a school improvement plan? • Technology is used to collect and analyze data used in the SIP plan. • Math and Literacy improvement plans include elements of technology integration.

  8. How could implementation of this performance indicator be measured? • Staff survey indicates increased use of technology resources, courses, and implementation in the classroom. • PGAP goals include technology integration. • Principal observations indicate attitude and culture of technology as an integral part of the curriculum.
