We hope to collaborate with entities such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Career Center and agencies that serve people with disabilities to increase the number of people with disabilities who are employed.

  3. The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Making the Case These initiatives rely on strong partnerships with both the general workforce system and agencies that serve people with disabilities.

  4. The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Listening to Business Employers want to hire people with disabilities. However, they are often contacted by so many agencies that the process becomes confusing.

  5. The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Responding to Business These factors have set the stage for the establishment of a Business Advisory Council in Jackson.

  6. The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Creating Solutions The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council will provide employers with a single point of contact for hiring and employment-related questions and concerns.

The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Getting It Right We realize that many employers are not hiring right now – however, we want to prepare for that time when the economy is healthy once again – this is the perfect time to build relationships and design a process that will be beneficial for everyone.

The Jackson Area Business Advisory Council A Resource for Business Roles Of The BAC: • Provides insight into the needs of the local business community • Shapes the development of training programs • Conducts real and/or mock interviews with job seekers • Creates awareness of the BAC among community leaders • Assists with networking opportunities • Participates in job fairs and career seminars
