  2. …these are the positions after moving: Gentile is IN CONTACT while Oriali is MARKING. At the end of Brazil 1st turn Zico was dangerously approaching Italy penalty area…but now the “azzurri” defenders can make an attempt to tackle him. First of all we move Gentile IN CONTACT with Zico as a declaration of TACKLE… …then we move Oriali into ZICO’s marking zone to give support…

  3. Let’s resolve the TACKLE: 1)ZICO passes a CTRL skill test rolling 11 out of 18 2)We roll two dice to check whether GENTILE commits a foul: rolling 7 the tackle is legal.

  4. Let’s see what modifiers we apply to GENTILE’s CON(tackle) for the test: ZICO rolled 11 out of CTRL 18: therefore 18-11=7 is the DEVIATION. ORIALI’s support gives a +1 bonus so: CON(tackle)=17-7+1=11. To win the tackle GENTILE must pass a test out of a value of 11.

  5. GENTILE rolls a great 6: he gets the ball from ZICO! As a result we swap GENTILE and ZICO positions but then he must be put outside GENTILE’s marking zone, of course!

  6. Before we go on we must underline that the TACKLE action is not to consider as an activation. This way GENTILE and ORIALI had only their first phase activation (they were moved). Italy’s turn continues with the activation of the remaining players: ROSSI, GRAZIANI and CONTI sprint onwards, Antognoni gets closer to GENTILE and ORIALI to possibly receive a pass, TARDELLI marks EDER, CABRINI e COLLOVATI hold their positions. After these movements the first phase ends.
