  4. CONTEXT • FREEDOM WORKS BETTER: THE STC mSTCSTORY • Marc Durieux and Thibaut de Sany were discussing after work about how to improve communities and knowledge sharing. After a good Belgian • beer, they began to assemble some concepts related to their developer experience and built a STC (Software Technical Center) • proof of concept on a laptop. • A couple of weeks later, they presented the concept to the CEO of CSC Belgium(Philippe Jaeken) who quickly approved to allocate a tiny • budget to develop the solution in the Cloud • With that budget and a minimal support Thibaut and Marc were convinced that STC concept was something that could be highly valuable for • CSC. They continued to invest after their work hours time to put this extra project in place. • Vincent Van Mol (Mobile developer) and Gregory Provost (Backend/security) joined the initiative to support developments • 2011 : First internal app developed: CSC mobile TICS app running on ios, android and Blackberry platforms • 2012 : Client SPW began a project with CSC in Belgium using STC as main PaaS (Platform as a Service in the Cloud) • In // Belgian Mobile Key Service Offeringofficiallyextends STC to CSC-mSTCadding several mobile modules to STC. • 2012-2013 : Client BRIC is seduced and requests CSC to install the platform to help them building Multi devices mobile apps in a couple • of weeks • FixMyStreet V1 • ARM V1 • 03-22-2013 : CSC FR requests support of CSC BE in order to install a CSC-mSTC for Switzerlandrailwayscompany • Today: We have the opportunity to share this with CSC group. • CSC FR and CSC UK are interested in the initiative as CSC BE has even started sharing mobile templateswith CSC FR LET US TELL YOU WHAT CSC-mSTCAS DONE FOR FixMyStreet BRIC APP… LEF ONLY – DO NOT DISTRIBUTE 4

CONTEXT • OBJECTIVE • 1) Build mobile competence at BRIC: • Setup of a CSC-mSTC* (Mobile Software Technical Center) instance to BRIC • 2) Deliver mobile apps in a fast planning • ARM and FixMyStreet apps have been delivered very efficiently.
