  1. Status of Revised NSN Regulations EC pushing NSN Regulations (NSNR) through system, hope to have ministerial sign-off and Privy Council Office review completed by July, 2005. Plan to publish revised NSNR in Canada Gazette II by August, 2005. Revised NSNR will come into force 60 days after the date they are published. Revised NSNR in force in October, 2005. Best Case Scenario

Status of Revised NSN Guidelines EC currently working through comments from ICG and the Regions (~60% complete) EC will send advanced copy of guidelines to ICG for final review (expect June, 2005) (2-3 week review). EC will only have web-based guidelines available when NSN Regs are in force in October, 2005. People who order revised NSN guidelines will receive CD version in October, 2005, and the hard copy when available, likely early 2006.

  3. Status of Technical Guidance Documents Reaction Schemes for Polymers ICG comments incorporated into new draft New draft will be forwarded to the ICG for review in May, 2005. Water Availability Currently being worked on by EC. Draft likely to be available for ICG review in late Summer, 2005 Partition coefficient, biodegradation, hydrolysis, ecotoxicity documents not started yet Documents will be added to NS website as they are finalized
