In order to achieve this, you have to pay special attention to your skin and nourish it. • It is very important that you drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun for long periods, wear at least a 30-SPF sunscreen outdoors, and eat healthy as well. SKIN Moisturizing, cont’d… • If you are using moisturizer before leaving your home, be sure to purchase one with at least an SPF of 15. • Even if you have oily skin, you will still need to moisturize the skin before you apply makeup. • If using moisturizer before bed, be sure to use an SPF-free moisturizer. SKIN Prime Time! • If you have fine lines and a few wrinkles that you would like to minimize, try a primer. • A primer, usually silicone-based, is a light transparent or tinted serum that temporarily minimizes those pesky wrinkles and fine lines. • It gives the skin a smoother appearance prior to applying makeup and after moisturizer.   8. SKIN A Solid Foundation • Foundation comes in many different formulas, textures, and shades. • Oily skin – try an oil-free formula. Combination skin – try sheer foundation. SKIN A Solid Foundation, cont’d… • Begin by lightly dipping foundation brush in makeup and dotting across areas of the face, then blend well with brush until skin is smooth and even. • Optional: Use a translucent setting or mineral powder if your skin is oily to help set makeup.   10. SKIN The Eyes Have It • For daytime wear, apply concealer to entire eyelid so eye shadow will adhere better. SKIN The Eyes Have It, cont’d… • If opting to wear eyeliner, be sure to apply it prior to apply mascara. • Line the top lid first from inner corner of eye outward to end of lid. • Then line the bottom inner lid. • A soft pencil liner may be easier than using liquid liner, but use what works better for you.   12. SKIN Mascara • Mascara comes in many different formulas and colors. Find your favorite by trying different brands and shades. • When applying mascara to top and/or bottom lashes, stroke the mascara wand on top and underneath the lashes to completely cover to achieve full and long lashes. SKIN You Make Me Blush (CHEEKS) • To enhance those cheekbones, suck your cheeks in like making a ‘fish face’ so you can easier see where the hollows of your cheeks are. • Now apply blush with a blush brush to the apples of your cheeks, up and back towards your ears in short light strokes, being sure not to put it on too heavily.   14. SKIN Paying Lip Service • Finally, the last step is applying appropriately colored lip color. It is important to choose the right color for your skin tone. • Experiment with different colors and textures. • There are textures from glossy, to matte, to sheer.
