What you do What we do Before you submit Get drafts read by supervisor DC contact your supervisor to obtain nominations Apply for appointment of examiners Submit dissertation Internal examiner will contact you Agree date for viva PhD examination map Examiners submit reports to DC Make sure your MAILING address is up to date in CamSIS Self-service – this is where your result letter will go Attend viva Examiners will (usually) give you a list of corrections Correct your work and give to Internal Examiner Examiner will check and ‘sign-off’ your corrections DC meet, consider the reports and recommend outcome to BGS One copy for UL – your dept may require a second copy Print and bind your hardbound dissertation(s) BGS meet and decide outcome & send you a result letter Submit hardbound Take to DC office if before the next DC meeting – or to BGS if after this Contact your College about Graduation Graduate! Now you can call yourself ‘Dr’
