  8. Silhouette Cut paper process and requirements • Your 4 thumbnail sketches must include a 1) monster (creature), 2) self portrait, • 3) narrative figure and 4)free choice. All sketches must be in silhouette form. • We will pick the most interesting sketch for your finished cut paper piece. • The figure should take up at least 70% of the composition. Leaving a small but interesting area of negative space. • Interior of the figure should include at least 6 or more negative shapes ( eyeholes, pattern in the clothes, weird designs, etc. • All figures must being action (doing something). • Image should be easily read as a figure ( with head, limbs, torso, etc. ) • Your finished piece with consist of 2 sheets of paper ( black and white ). • You will cut the figure outline from the white sheet of paper. The detailed negative shapes within the figure will be cut in the black sheet. • Assemble by gluing white paper on top of the black sheet.
