  1. FISH By MichelaDarmanin!

  2. What makes a fish a fish? Fish are the largest group of vertebrates on earth . There are more than 29,000 known species . Vertebrates are animals that have a back bone . Most fish are ectothermic or cold-blooded , which means that they cannot generate their own body heat . Fish have something called gills which they use to take oxygen in, instead of lungs. Gills are organs that process the oxygen that’s in water and allow the fish to breath.

  3. Most fish have fins to help them move through the water and thin bony scales for protection. Their streamlined bodies help them cut quickly through water. • Fish eat other fish. They also feed on algae, plankton ,plants, crustaceans, bugsand more! Different species of fish have their own unique diets!

  4. Agnathan Fish Agnathan fish or jawless fish have no jaws, just a round sucker mouth with teeth all along the inside. Jawless fish are some of the oldest fish we know of. There are fossils of them that date back to 250 million years ago.
