ECAL LED monitoring system replacement Installation of bundles(a draft document for the procedure is attached to the agenda) The RICH2 tower extensions (all the 3 levels) are installed ECAL opening and RP visit today Safety visit – after the installation of a mobile scaffolding at the 2nd level the installation is expected to start next week (?) at the beginning, not to full speed: Sergei Z. will be (50%) busy at the bundle production till ~20-Feb; Sergii K. will arrive 02-Feb the installation sequence: first side A, from Inner to Outer, then side C. Box #s: 6,7,8,9,10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. the commissioning will start after the installation of the first box (#6 or #7) the work has to be finished by the end of May 2nd and 3rd level: 1m wide space, 30 cm to ECAL, fenced 1st level: very close to ECAL, not fenced. A load test passed Yu. Guz 2014/01/22

ECAL LED monitoring system replacement • Safety issues • RP • depending on results of the measurements, people may need to wear: • operational dosimeters • gloves • special clothes • special vacuum cleaner will be used to remove (radioactive) dust from the old fibres and ECAL surface before start of handling • the remover old bundles should be sorted according to the RP zoning and handled separately. Samples will be sent to RP for measurements. The way of utilization of the bundles from ZDR and Operational Zone will be decided by RP. • in order to work on the movable scaffolding and/or stepladders, harness has to be used; the people have “working at height” courses passed Yu. Guz 2014/01/22
