    2. BUDGET UPDATE 2006 – 2009: Overall federal reduction of approximately $100,000 absorbed by ADHS 2008: $26,500 cut from State Budget Shifted federal funds to cover losses CDI position in N. AZ lost due to retirement and hiring freeze

    3. BUDGET UPDATE 2008: Lost Administrative Assistant II (data entry) 2009: Lost part-time data entry clerk 2 weeks furlough for 6 positions Lost Administrative Assistant

    4. BUDGET UPDATE 2009: State Laboratory in Tucson closed Aptima only: three times as expensive Loss of staff and equipment = loss of capacity Additional FTE cost to Program Syphilis Elimination Effort cut nearly $18,000 Prevention, including STD, is being prioritized at Federal level

Education Continuing Education Online http://www.cdc.gov/std/training/onlinetraining.htm STD Curriculum Self-Study Modules - Seven web-based educational modules, each based on a specific STD topic. Each module is considered to be an individual course, and a student may complete as many modules as he or she chooses. Online Case Series - A series of interactive STD case presentations designed for clinicians who provide care for STD patients. Provided by the STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers.

Provided by the California PTC.  Hepatitis Web Study - This site provides interactive, case-based modules related to the clinical care of persons with viral hepatitis. Provides up-to-date information on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of hepatitis infection and related chronic disease.

Each module is considered to be an individual course, and as many modules as desired can be completed. Free continuing education credit is available. Exploring the Link Between HPV & Cervical Cancer The California Family Health Council sponsored this course to support health care providers in learning about HPV, its link to cervical cancer and ways to screen, treat and help their clients prevent HPV. This online training module is a recording of an audioconference broadcast November 14, 2006. Downloadable course materials include powerpoint visuals, an audio recording, and written course materials.

Education http://stdhivtraining.org/online_courses.html Family PACT STD UPDATE Webcast The California Family Health Council sponsored this course to provide an update on STD screening and treatment services that are available through Family PACT.This course is a webcast with viewable and downloadable powerpoint slides The webcast was initially presented March 27, 2007. Continuing education credit is available. Syphilis in the HIV-infected patient Syphilis in the HIV-infected Patient The International AIDS Society USA introduces a case about an HIV-infected man with possible sexually transmitted disease coinfection and presents 5 clinical decision points, each focusing on a case-management objective. At each decision point, learners should select the option that they believe is most sound and then read the presenter's explanation of that option. Choosing the best option leads to an extended discussion of the medical evidence and practice considerations related to the case-management objective. Free CME is available

Designed for clinicians who provide care for STD patients. Free CME, CNE, and CEU credits are available.  Behavioral and Social Intervention Training - Provided by the PTCs, courses are designed to develop skills and strategies to prevent or reduce behaviors that place persons at risk for STD or HIV infections.
