  1. New STEM Program • Student based • Transdisiplinary • Project or Problem Based Learning activities • Technology will be 1:1 Macbook Airs in the classroom

Goals of STEM • 4 year program • Have a high interest level in STEM Career • Be able to solve real world PBL in college • Be able to thrive in a TEAM! • Be familiar with Technology (Tools-Materials-Processes) • Have strong public presentation skills • Be global thinkers • Have a sense of culture in our STEM program • Fight for the same mission – everyone will be on a team. • In the 3rd and 4th year of the program our students may be off teams more than in the first 2 years of the program. This is because of the diversity of classes students can take.

  3. Science…the “S” in STEM • Involve concepts from the science curriculum in a STEM based program • Big Bang, to periodic table, to chemical reactions, Newtonian mechanics and modern day physics • Heavy, heavy emphasis on integration of math, history, and English tie-in • Develops the ability to critically think, interpret data, and analyze information to make informed, scientific decisions • You MUST like to think, question, and love to learn!

  4. Technology and Engineering • Similar to Knovation • Project or Problem Based • Musical Instrument • Products – Develop a product • Speed – CO2 car Hot Air Balloon vehicle • Alternative Energy

  5. Math • These units will be covered and linked to the 4 projects. • Ratios and unit conversions • Equations and Inequalities • Polynomials – Systems – Exponents • Polynomials – Systems – Exponents
