Ventral view of Paracyclops fimbriatus female. Plate 012b. Lateral (right) and ventral view of Paracyclops fimbriatus. A small cyclopoid copepod that is common and wide spread in N.A. It is suggested that this species is creeping, being common in debris and detritus in shallow water. Recognized by appearing to have only one large setae on each caudal rami. One of only a few copepods that has a small number of segments in the 1st antennae, generally 8-9, rarely 11.
