  4. Mission & Vision • Mission Statement • Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the St. Saint University educates students to lead and influence. It is our goal to provide opportunities for our diverse student body to become morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely and work skillfully to advance the common good. • At all degree levels, St. Saint integrates liberal arts and professional education within the Catholic tradition, emphasizing intellectual inquiry and social teaching, and challenging students to this transformational leadership. • Vision • We seek to be a recognized leader among Catholic colleges in the Midwest that excels in effective teaching, active learning, scholarly research and responsible engagement with the local community as well as with the national and global communities in which we live.

First Year Seminar- CATCHY NAME?!?!! • All incoming first year students are placed in a Seminar group • Small class sizes of 10-20 • Coordinate with Orientation Planning Committee • All faculty and professional staff are required to teach every other year; FYS is part of their terms of employment • General Class Outline • Composing a Life • Searching for truths • Working Toward a Just Society

Senior Year Capstone • Every graduate of St. Saint is required to take a Capstone Course. • Multiple sections, each addressing a different social justice issue • women’s rights • socioeconomic disparity • housing opportunities in the US • issues of racism and sexism • Each student will complete a capstone project that reflects integration of learning from this class as well as their area of study
