Using Data • NHEAIP/NECAP item analysis • Quarterly reading benchmark achievement reports to administration • Screening for intervention services and documenting progress • Attempted “data meetings” where we looked at individual kids’ assessment data to determine services – long and laborious!

  4. Using Data • Trained all teachers how to access PerformancePLUS data • NH Responds self assessment indicated weakness in the core reading curriculum – researched reading series and adopted HMH Journeys

Using Data Better • Developed dedicated team of dedicated assessors to ensure better reliability and validity of data • Quarterly presentations of school wide assessment data for staff and administration • Articulated the essential understanding that data can help solve problems at the core curriculum level as well as at the student level – VanName Larson • Used backward design to redevelop data team process and forms

Next Steps • Mock Data Day – run through the process • Roll out data process to staff • Professional Development • In-depth trainings to use PerformancePLUS data to answer questions • Training to read and use NWEA data and Descartes to differentiate instruction • Train staff to use ThinkCentral assessments • Communicating assessment process and findings to families • Develop master schedule • Connect with DINI Data Team (in development)
