  1. Reading AR

  2. When and Where Can I take the Tests? • You may not take the AR tests at home • The AR lab will be open before and after school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It opens at 7:45 in the morning, and closes at 4:15 in the afternoon (after busses are gone). Get a pass from me the day before. • The library will be open for testing, and I can send you if you finish your work early.

  3. How much of my grade is it? • Ten percent. That is more than any other assignment or test. • You must meet your point goal for the six weeks for a good grade AND do reasonably well on the AR tests (85%<)

  4. How do I Track my Progress? Reading Logs!

  5. Which Books? • Thousands of options! • Quizzes are “movie-proof” • You need to have read it this year • You cannot take a quiz twice • www.ARBOOKFIND.com • Write the address in your planner. • The yellow dots on library books mean that those books have AR tests to match them. You can check out books that do not earn you AR points, but remember how you are being graded!

  6. Examples • ZPD: 4.7 • Words: 87,223 • AR Points: 13 • ZPD: 5.3 • Words: 99,750 • AR Points: 15

  7. Review • Who’s responsibility is it to get this taken care of? • Exactly what is expected of you? • When are your points due? When you get your log, put Your name on it. I will give you your ZPD range and goal.
