Alternative Programs/ILPA • Pilot districts have been testing the use of the ILPA module during the months of January and February • The ILPA will be made available to all districts by the end of February • Use of the ILPA module in IC for tracking transition of students to/from alternative schools is OPTIONAL for the remainder of the 2013-14 school year • All districts will be REQUIRED to utilize the ILPA in IC beginning with the 2014-15 school year.

  4. eTranscript • 21 schools left to go live. On schedule for 100% participation by end of March • Focus shifting from transition to usage • All final transcripts expected to be electronic. Some universities have indicated they will no longer accept paper transcripts. • Minor changes to transcript format to ensure consistent layout. Example class rank – displays but only filled if districts populate.

Intervention Tab • Currently open for pilot • Feedback needs to be provided to April Pieper by April 30th. • Tool Rights must be granted before the tab will be visible • Required for use 2014-2015 for: • All seniors who fell short of ACT benchmarks • All 3rd year Needs Improvement schools for students scoring novice • All ESS entry • ALL RtA and MAF grant schools • Questions? • April.pieper@education.ky.gov • Nick.easter@education.ky.gov

Preschool • Spring Enrollment Count • Same children counted as the Fall Enrollment (Dec. 1 count) • Children counted for funding purposes include 3s and 4s with disabilities and 4 year-olds income eligible (up to 150% poverty) • Counts children enrolled on March 3rd • Count is pulled on March 10, 2014 • Be sure all IEPs are active and locked before March 10th.

  7. Restraint and Seclusion • Any behavior resolution of SSP7 or SSP8 MUST have a corresponding record on the Restraint and Seclusion custom tab • The resolution ID is the key data element for connecting this data, the ID is auto-generated on the behavior resolution section and must be manually entered on the custom tab • A recorded WebEx session is available on KDE’s Safe Schools website.

State Course Codes • Why does it matter? • Defines certification requirements for LEAD reporting • Identifies courses requiring End-of-Course Assessment • Identifies Intervention courses • Identifies AP courses for increased KEES money • Used to analyze course progressions across districts • How do I make sure they are correct? • To identify blank or totally invalid state course codesKY State Reporting > KDE Reports > Missing or Invalid Course State Codes • To check for mismatched state course codesAd Hoc Reporting > State Published > curriculum State Course Codes • Questions? • Robin.Chandler@education.ky.gov

Student Voice Survey • Technical How-To Guides are available on webpage • K-2 administration is optional • Email teacherleader@education.ky.gov by March 14 if your district intends to give K-2 surveys • Preparation activities to complete by March 14 • Distribute needed documentation to appropriate parties • Select the survey type for participating teachers in Campus • Verify the number of students who will receive surveys • Grade 3-12 students test logging into Campus Portal • Survey administration window is March 19 to April 2 • Contacts • Cathy.White@education.ky.gov • Jeffrey.Coles@education.ky.gov

KDE Infinite Campus End-of-Year Training • Tentatively scheduled for April 29-30 • Conducted via Lync plus limited seating on site at the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort • Registration information will be sent to KSIS Points of Contact and posted on the KSIS Training webpage • Agenda and presentation materials will be available prior to the event

Entry/Withdrawal CodesNew and Updated for 14-15 • R01 – Transferred from another enrollment in same school. • W01 – Transferred to another enrollment in same school. • W22 – Moved, reenrolled in another Kentucky public school. • W25 – Dropout – above minimum age for withdrawal. • W29 – Moved, out of state or out of United States. • W30 – Mid-year withdrawal Grade 14 with prior diploma

Early GraduationIntent to Graduate Early Beginning 2014-15 Senate Bill 61 provides a pathway to Early Graduation for students who intend to move on an accelerated timeline through high school and graduate college ready before the typical four years of high school or age 18. • Student Incentives: • Early Graduation Certificate • One-time scholarship award to be used at a SACS accredited Kentucky two- or four-year public or non-profit college. • The equivalent of four years of (Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship) of KEES as calculated and administered by KHEAA for students who graduate in three years.

  14. Early GraduationIntent to Graduate Early • Student must: • Submit Intent form to be on accelerated pathway and receive required approval. (Signed copy to be uploaded into ILP). • Meet proficiency benchmarks on KBE required end-of-course exams (Eng II, Alg II, Biology, US History) • Meet CPE_ACT defined college readiness benchmarks (English=18, Reading=20, Mathematics=19) • More information can be found on the KDE website here or by searching “early graduation”. • Contact: kelly.clark@education.ky.gov

  15. Early GraduationTracking Participants in Infinite Campus • A new Intent for Early Graduation program flag will be added to track: • Date of approval for student participation • An exit date and reason if the students chooses to end his/her participation in the early graduation pathway. • Instructions for assigning the flag are contained in the guidance documentation on the Early Graduation page, will be shared in beginning-of-year training and added to the data standards for 2014-15.
