A Career in medical education I want to have a research interest in medical education I want teaching to be a significant component of my job – someone who co-ordinates teaching programmes – someone involved in planning teaching delivery – someone viewed as having teaching expertise I want to be seen as a teacher/educator – someone who people might expect to deliver teaching – someone with some teaching commitments in their job plan I want to be seen as a teacher/educator – someone who people might expect to deliver teaching I want to do a bit of teaching like everyone else does

Academy of Medical Educators Please write a short reflective piece (no more than 500 words) exploring your professional practice as a medical educator, based on the Core Values of the Academy of Medical Educators’ Professional Standards 2012 (pp12-14). Please see note 2. The core values underpin the professional practice and development of medical educators and cover: Quality (improvement in healthcare) Respect (for learners, patients and public, colleagues) Integrity Scholarship
