How was Mussolini able to come to power in Italy? • Mussolini marched his followers into Rome • King was scared, gave Mussolini Italy • Once in power he used threats, violence and his political skill • Propaganda to promote Italy’s greatness • New Italian holidays to promote nationalism • Took over Ethiopia

  8. What did Stalin want for the Soviet Union? • Totalitarian State • Strengthen communism • Five Year Plan: increase factory and mine production • Collectivism: combined small farms • Executed and sent resistors to labor camps
