Go along and experience spooky stories on the creepy black waters of Black Swan lake. 7-9pm, must book. Adults £12, child £6, 25% off for MAC members. 26 Oct-5 Nov – GIANT PUMPKIN HUNT at Bucklebury Farm Park, between Reading and Newbury, 0118 971 4002, www.buckleburyfarmpark.co.uk 27 Oct - ARMED FORCES DAY at Newbury Racecourse, Newbury, www.newbury-racecourse.co.uk/Racing/Fixtures---Tickets/Saturday-22nd-October This year will have an aviation theme with a special flypast by the Army Air Corps. There will be free entry for all Armed Forces personnel, MOD civilians and Royal British Legion members as well as all under 18s. The racecourse is also going to be launching Berkshire’s 2012 Poppy Appeal. There is going to be a full afternoon of racing but there will also be entertainment for all the family too ranging from laser shooting and paintballing to vintage vehicle displays and even a sing-along brass band after the racing. Gates open 11am, last race 4.55pm. 27-28 Oct – SPOOKY HALLOWEEN TRAINS at Cholsey & Wallingford Railway, 01491 835 067, www.cholsey-wallingford-railway.com Watch out for ghosts, rattling bones and spiders, look out for the spooky characters along both sides of the line to Cholsey and back and beware of the Witch distributing special Halloween Spooky Bags on the train to all under 8s. Children in full fancy dress get in free. 27 Oct–2 Nov – HOWL-O-WEEN at Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Burford, Oxon, OX18 4JP,www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk Back by popular demand, Howl-o-ween at the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is ‘Howling’ good fun. There will be special Wolverine feeds and a spooky train ride with terrifying tunnel! In the walled garden the ‘Pumpkin Patch’ will be back, last year the Garden team created lots of pumpkin people and carved pumpkins, complete with witches cauldron! There will also be a Pumpkin trail where you can learn facts about Owls, Bats, Snakes, Spiders, Wolves and Wolverines who live at the Park. Go along and join in the spooky fun.

There will be some stirring military music to augment the display. Enjoy the display and atmosphere whilst raising funds for local charities. A real family event. No personal fireworks or alcohol please. Gates open at 6pm, display starts at 7pm. 3 Nov - PANGBOURNE FIREWORK FIESTA at Pangbourne Primary School, Kennedy Drive, Pangbourne, RG8 7LBThe Friends of Pangbourne Primary School will be hosting their popular Firework Fiesta with a huge bonfire, 30 minute firework display, BBQ and bar, games and plenty of fun for all the family. Gates open at 5.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 in advance for adults/over 12s (£10 on the gate). October Half Term 2012 Holiday Clubs Animal Rangers 29th October- 2nd November Days run from 10.30 - 3.00pm During the day your child will get to handle most of the animals and learn a little about each animal, they will get hands on involved in grooming the animals, exercising and feeding them. Animals we have on site at the moment are:- pigs, piglets, sheep, alpacos, nubien goats, small pygmy goats, shetland ponies, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, rats, bearded dragons, snake, chinchillas, birds, stick insects.
