  6. Learning Objectives At the end of this unit, you will: • Understand how CSMA will facilitate your CoA change requests • Understand how CSMA navigation works • Know how to log on and navigate in CSMA • Know how to request an org value within your CoA ranges

What Is CSMA? • CSMA is a custom-built, integrated Oracle application • CSMA features include: • Validation of requests at point of entry • Streamlined batch processing • Tracking and routing of requests throughout the entire processing lifecycle • Custom reports to help monitor and view CoA requests • Seamless and transparent integration with the upcoming Grants Management Award System (GMAS)

How Does CSMA Work? • Navigation • Inter-field dependencies supported • Separate screens for ADD-specific attributes • “Smart” pick lists and color prompts for required and optional entries • Oracle • CSMA forms, functions, and reports attached to your individual responsibility • Four loads to Oracle daily (8 am, 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm) • Batch processing available (using Excel) • Security • Each responsibility assigned a range of unique values for each segment • Validation performed first, no wasted effort

  10. Log on to Oracle via PIN Gateway to Oracle Financial Applications

  11. Enter Login ID and PIN Password Harvard: PIN System Login

  12. Personal Home Page Your responsibility • Each responsibility allows access to a unique rangeof CoA values assigned to you

  13. Displays the CSMAresponsibility you selected at the top CSMA: Oracle Navigator Window • The menu displays the various forms and data you can access using this responsibility • Allows you to build a a personal “Top Ten List” of frequently used items

  14. Open the Request Entry screen from the menu or your “Top Ten List’ CSMA: Oracle Navigator Window

  15. Select Type of Value ClickContinue when done Create New Request Enter Request, Segment, and Value

  16. Enter Description and ORG Abbreviation Complete Later Cancel Request ID # ClickContinue when done Enter ORG Attributes

  17. Complete Later Return to attributes “Save for Later” Message

  18. Enter Date and Comments Complete Later Cancel Review Submit Comments Screen/Submit Message

  19. Continue with Submission Return to attributes “Submit Confirmation” Message

  50. Request Type and Value determine the next screen after clicking Continue CSMA knows that this Unrestricted Endowment requires fund purpose Delete, Save, Continue RSO Fund Attributes MODIFY will open this screen and then comments screen only
