  1. Best Practices How to maximize efficiency and use TaskStream effectively

  2. Why focus on TaskStream Best Practices? • Using TaskStream efficiently allows us to provide better service to WGU students. • Checking TaskStream often allows WGU students to make revisions in a timely fashion, enabling them to better meet their RCDs. • Effective use of TaskStream allows PMs to quickly identify areas of difficulty and offer academic assistance and support to students.

  3. The Basics • Check TaskStream twice daily, preferably once in am/pm. A quick weekend check when possible would also provide the best assistance to your students. • Keep TaskStream open on your desktop during appointments to quickly access task status, directions and feedback. • Notify ptask@wgu.edu of any task irregularities or abnormalities in evaluation.

  4. The basics, continued • Check history when you release a task to flag third revisions and email students to offer assistance with revision instructions. • Email ptreferrals@wgu.edu to eliminate students from your view. Include student name and organize by assessment- be specific! • Encourage students to print off and utilize instructions, links and rubrics for each task.

  5. Efficiency Tactics Customizing your page allows you to drop courses from your “My Programs” view by selecting either “Show” or “Hide”. If you can’t see a course later, remember to edit these options before contacting ptreferrals@wgu.edu .

  6. Efficiency Tactics There are several different useful reports PMs can utilize from this page. Choose the “TS Coordinator ” option from the side menu, then select the “Generate Reports” option from the Program Management Menu.

  7. Efficiency Tactics STATUS REFERRAL: To check on the status of a referral, select “Multi -Program Status Report.” Enter the student’s name and it will generate a report of all the programs the student is currently enrolled in.

  8. Efficiency Tactics To view a student’s DRF after revisions have been requested, click on “Performance by DRF Category.”

  9. Efficiency Tactics Choose the correct course from the “DRF template” drop down menu. Select “single author” and the name of the student. Select continue.

  10. Efficiency Tactics Select “View author’s full DRF”. Choose the task you are interested in viewing and you will be able to see the author’s work in full as it was submitted.
