  3. Getting Started • Successful school website navigation starts with understanding how to use bookmarks • Allows you to quickly find resources that are important to you • Helps you organize all of the information and resources you find on school websites

  4. Bookmarks or Favorites Saves the address of a favorite Internet site in a file in order to revisit that site in the future. • Explorer: favorites

  5. Bookmarks or Favorites Firefox: bookmarks

  6. Search • Successful school website navigation is assisted by utilizing “search” tools. • Two methods • Search using the CMSD School’s Search • Search using Google’s Advanced Search Tools

  7. CMSDnet.net Search Searching using the School Website’s Search tools Navigate to www.cmsdnet.net Enter search words into the search field at the top of the page and hit return on your keyboard

  8. Google Advanced Search • Navigate to www.google.com/advanced-search • Enter www.cmsdnet.net in “site or domain:” • Enter your search in “all of these words:” • Click on “Advanced Search” Button

  10. School Communication Links to individual schools (which list phone numbers) “School Administrators” link provides phone and email addresses of principals.

Parent Engagement CMSD’s Parent University CMSD Parent University provides information through workshops on a variety of topics such as: computer basics, reading at home, advocacy for students and college readiness, which will help parents and caregivers increase their ability to advance student learning and promote academic success. CMSD Parent University is free to all parents and caregivers of CMSD students.
