  1. ISHPDB Status Report: International Stellarator/Heliotron Profile Database Hisamichi Funaba, Andreas Kus, Masayuki Yokoyama & the ISHPDB Collabortation presented by Andreas Dinklage Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, EURATOM Association, Wendelsteinstr. 1, D-17491 Greifswald, Germany 5th Coordinated Working Group Meeting Jul. 6th – 8th, 2009 Institut für Plasmaforschung, Stuttgart, Germany

  2. ISHPDB • Status of Actions • Confinement • Profile Database

  3. Profile Documentation Progress

  4. Equilibrium Data Proceedings

  5. Release 25 • Four W7-AS high performance data with STDSET=0 added (H. Maassberg). The database contains now 4134 observations. • Release 24 • 71 predictive data for W7-X (Yu. Turkin) with STDSET=0 added. • The database contains now 4130 observations. • Release 23 • Eight W7-AS CERC (H. Maassberg) and two TJ-II CERC (T. Estrada) datasets with STDSET=0 have been added. • The database contains now 4059 observations.

  6. Regressions with high – b data • Case 1: high beta data are compliant with ISS04 data-set • Cases 3-4: high beta data alone give unfavorable beta scaling • Regression studies ongoing

  11. What was done during A. Kus’s visit to NIFS • Ufile structure clarified • Sato-san can use our (LHD, W7-AS, TJ-II) Ufiles for his TASK3D code • Yuriy Turkin can read our Ufiles with his (transport) codes Profile documentation extended (to be continued) • Yokoyama-san provided some plots for LHD CERC profiles • Teresa Estrada will send data/plots with TJ-II CERC data to Masayuki-san; he will prepare/implement them for ISHPDB purposes and send them to Kus-san • NIFS Data Mirror in progress (will be presented by Funaba-san in Stuttgart) • openAFS client to access IPP data installed • Request for update information of database in IPP • Funaba-san is working on the data on the NIFS site • Method of access control to NIFS server is under consideration • High Beta Data • See next page

  12. High Beta Discussion (text by M. Yokoyama, 22.04.09) • In principle, high beta discharges already published can be delivered to Profile Database. • However, procedures and mutual agreements should be discussed inside the NIFS, since many people have been involved in high beta issues (experimentalist, code developers,,,) • Specification of equilibrium data for such high beta discharges is also the big issue to be discussed. (HINT2?, VMEC?) • Sakakibara-san will lead such negotiations inside the NIFS, and he will present “consensus” in Stuttgart. (even before that, we can send it around to you.) • If you have some concerns similar to these, please have some discussions inside IPP, so that we can discuss at Stuttgart to reach the agreement. for example, • how do you provide the equilibrium information of delivered shots, 54022 and 54023?, • how did you transform R (in figures of ne and Te) to rho=r/a in 2D Ufile?
