  1. Welcome! We Are Delighted You Are Here!

  2. Welcome! Questions? Just Let Us Know!

  3. Acts 20:20-27 “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,”

  4. (21) Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (22) And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:”

  5. (23) Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. (24) But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry,”

  6. “Which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (25) And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.”

  7. (26) Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. (27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”

  8. II Corinthians 2:11 Satan can get an advantage over us if we are ignorant of his devices. There are strategies he employs to destroy souls!

  9. Ignorant “not to know (through lack of information or intelligence); by implication, to ignore (through disinclination)”

  10. Paul Informed Ephesian Elders • “kept back nothing that was profitable” • “had not shunned to declare all the counsel of God”

  11. Why? Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday

  12. Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday • The English word comes from the Anglo-Saxon Eastre or Estera, a Teutonic spring goddess to whom sacrifice was offered in April. • Fertility festivals have always been common with heathens. • Remember why Canaan was to be wiped clean?

  13. Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday • The term “Easter,” in the King James Version of the Bible (Acts 12:4), is a mistranslation. • The Greek word “pascha” is found 29 times in the Greek New Testament & is correctly translated “Passover” in every other instance.

  14. “Easter Sunday” An Annual Religious Holiday Celebrated By Many • Millions of people commemorate the resurrection of Jesus on this day.

  15. “Easter Sunday” • Many consider it as "the most holy" of all the religious holidays. • For some, it marks the only time they attend church services (although Christmas runs a close 2nd).

  16. Many Religious Groups Have Easter Programs • “Good Friday” Service. • Sunrise Service. • Plays Or Passion Scenes. • Easter Cantatas • Offer Lord’s supper. • Decorations & Partying.

  17. We Are Saying This, Not Because • Members of these groups are not good people. • We don’t like those who are in these religious groups. • Of personal preference or what we like or want.

  18. We Are Saying This Because… There Is No Authorization To Observe The Resurrection Of Our Lord Yearly. • No Bible Authority • Must have authority John 4:23-24 Colossians 3:17 II John 9-11 • There is no authority!

  19. No Authorization To Observe The Resurrection Of Our Lord Yearly • Forbidden to observe special days, placing emphasis where doesn’t belongGal. 4:8-10 • Why do people do what is not authorized and fail to do what is authorized? Told to observe his death every week. Acts 20:7

  20. Your Year Is Set For You Mary, Mother of God (January 1) Ash Wednesday(March 9) Palm Sunday (April 17) Holy Thursday(April 21) Good Friday(April 22) Holy Saturday (April 23) Easter Sunday(April 24) Divine Mercy Sunday(May 1) Ascension(June 2) Pentecost Sunday(June 12) Trinity Sunday(June 19)

  21. Your Year Is Set For You Trinity Sunday(June 19) Corpus Christi(June 23) Assumption of Mary(Aug.15) All Saints Day(November 1) First Sunday of Advent(Nov.27) Immaculate Conception(Dec.8) Christmas(December 25)

  22. Authority I Peter 3:15; II Tim.2:2; Mark 16:15,16; Acts 8:4; II Timothy 4:2-4; Jude 3; Galatians 1:6-9; 5:7; Matthew 7:21-27; John 12:48; Matt.16:18,19

  23. A Simple Request Where’s The Bible For Any Of This? Book, Chapter, & Verse? Command, Example, or Implication? Acts 17:11

  24. The Origin Of ALL Of These Religious Holidays? • Without exception, it is Roman Catholicism - not God. • Protestants adopted these holidays from them. • Will we pay spiritual tribute to either by celebrating any of these days and weeks & seasons?

  25. The Origin Of ALL Of These Religious Holidays? • We must respect those who place their allegiance in these sectarian and, in some cases, paganistic holidays and systems, and have been brainwashed to honor them, but we cannot commend those systems and holidays. • They can know & do better, and we want to help.

  26. Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday • JESUS WARNED OF THE DANGER OF HUMAN TRADITIONS • He rebuked the scribes Pharisees for their use of traditions - Mark 7:1-13 • They made their traditions necessary for all to observe - Mark 7:7 • In keeping their traditions, they set aside the commands of God–Mk.7:8-9

  27. Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday There Is No Spiritual Connection

  28. Why We Do Not Celebrate Easter As A Religious Holiday Faithful children of God reflect upon the Savior’s resurrection every Sunday (the resurrection day - cf. John 20:1ff) as they gather to worship God in the regular assembly of the church (cf. Acts 20:7; I Cor.16:2).

  29. God’s Simple Plan HEAR (Rom. 10:17) BELIEVE (John 8:24) REPENT (Luke 13:3) CONFESS (Rom. 10:9-10) BAPTIZED (Gal. 3:27) ADDED TO THE CHURCH (Acts 2:41,47)

  30. Remain Faithful • Revelation 2:10 “Be thou faithful unto death” • I John 1:7 “Walk in the light…” • I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” • Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
