  1. My Learning Journey Learning Management SystemsJane Jacek Instructor: OLTD 504 AviLuxenburg has been torturing children for more than two decades.  He has forced children to learn in Grades 2 through 12, in subject areas that range from the academics (Math, Language Arts, Science, and so on) to film production, broadcast journalism, computers, photography, animation, Web design, graphic design, and stuff like that.

  2. Critical Challenge Question How can Learning Management Systems (LMS and/or Non-LMS) help me develop courses where students learn in the best way for them (teacher-structured/personalized), while providing me with the tools I require for efficient and efficacious presentation, moderation, support, and assessment (for, as, and of learning)?

  3. Parts of a Learning Management System Content • Dashboard (Where will students go first?) • Content / Lessons / Presentations • Processing Tools • File-sharing • Calendar Assessment • Assignment (handing-in, feedback) • Feedback (student-student, teacher-student) • Self-evaluations / peer-evaluations • Quizzing Community • Community (learning network) • Discussion / Discourse • Peer Mentoring/Helping • Communication (student-student, student-teacher, student-world?) • Collaboration (wikis, group work...) 7. What is the definition of a Non-LMS? I believe each tool defines itself based on its functionality. OLTD 504 Resource Wiki Check out this Non-LMS Wiki Here you will find the links to different Non-LMS tools in the areas of content, communication, community and assessment.

  8. Course Design in a Non-LMS Click here to see my course created in If when you arrive you do not immediately see “Non-LMS Course Build” in the toolbar, then click on “More” to access it.

  9. Comparing LMS and Non-LMS LMS: Canvas Instructure NON-LMS: Weebly Read my reflection

  10. Critical Challenge Question In looking to answer the critical challenge question. If I was looking to develop a fully online course, I would want to be able to create in a management system that hosts all of the  parts of a learning management system . As a DL teacher this is important to me. Canvasmeets these requirements. If however I was looking to build a class/course site in a f2f or blended classroomI would choose to use Weebly.  It is easy to build in and edit thus allowing me to create, as you have seen, almost a full online course.
