Is already built into our curriculum. • -Making Connections All reading strategies • -Morning Prompts/Reflections-timed activity • -Readers/Writer’s workshop-grammar practice • -Math Singapore – computation, basic facts, word problems • -Weekly Studies • -Read A louds

  3. Writing Prompt Writers can succeed on a 20 minute timed writing prompt by using time wisely and writing a piece with 3 paragraphs (opening, body, and closing).

  4. Ingredients for success: Watch the Clock Write 3 Paragraphs Opening: Begin your piece by restating the question from the prompt. Tell your answer in a sentence or two. Body: Write 3-8 sentences explaining your answer. Give examples and answer all parts of the question. Closing: Restate the question from the prompt . Restate your answer in a sentence or two. Finish with something catchy like a question. • 5 minutes: read the prompt twice, pick an idea, make a list of the things you want to include • 10 minutes: write your 3 paragraph piece • 5 minutes: finish writing, reread your piece to make revisions and edits

My Ideas My Planning List • Habitat for Humanity • Nearby soup kitchen • Homeless shelter • Animal shelter • Homeless Shelter • Homelessness is an issue I really care about; I see homeless people almost every day and want to help • Money could go to buy supplies (bedding, mattresses, food) • Money could provide more people to work at the shelter and provide services (counseling, help finding jobs, social workers, etc.) to the homeless 5 minutes is up!!! Move on!!!

  7. Morning Meeting Activities Both classes coming together to illustrate/demonstrate what collaboration is. Discussion on self respect and respect for others. On-going awareness of expectations. • Building on team cooperation • Working together to complete class projects • Discussion on the importance of inclusion

  8. Spring Break Homework Lang. Arts -There are four packets that focus on both reading and writing • Math • -There are four packets each addressing various skills. *please keep in mind that the suggested days are only a suggestion. *set routines for each day eg: Place and time
