School ecoaudit

Our school focuses on promoting environmentally conscious behavior and raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection. We engage students in various activities such as environmental project days, waste recycling, selective waste collection, and the use of renewable energy sources. Our future plans include building a composting system and organizing film screenings to educate students about environmental conservation.

  2. Our school In our school the number of activities that are aimed to develop environmental and natural values promoting behaviour has significantly increased in the recent years.

  3. Environmentally conscious behaviour awareness raising (so that we know and understand what and why should be protected); active guides by examples (so that we know how this can be done on a daily basis).

  4. Environmental Protection Project Days trips to the neighbourhood; filling in environmental tests, doing playful exercises; rehabilitation and reservation of the Eger stream (which is next to our school); for greener environment - "Beautiful Floral Environment in Eger " competition, tree planting in the area around the training workshops.

  5. Waste recycling We reuse the waste that is generated during the practical education - such as scrap metal recovery to skewers, candle holders, pot racks, planters, containers, tea lights. The Christmas trees of the school are usually decorated together with recycled materials, like tea filter bags, etc.

  6. Selective waste collection PET bottles can be collected selectively at the cafeteria and also in collectors set up in the classrooms. Every year we organize paper collection. In addition, we usually publish used battery collection competition among the classes, but the collection of these can be done independently into the battery collection system in the school. During the practical parts of the training workshops activity hazardous waste is also generated, these are collected into separate bins in the car mechanics workshop.

  7. Renewable energy sources The use of alternative energy sources is becoming more widespread. In our school several types of solar cells are located, which can help the students’ professional development.

  8. Conscious equipment usage There is a biological component washer in the car mechanics workshop. With the use of it hazardous waste is not produced.

  9. Our plans A lot of natural origin waste (grass, twigs) arises due to the large green areas, so we are planning to build and place out a composting system in the school. In this way we can produce soil for flowers, which may help to make our school’s environment more beautiful and the usage of organic waste can also be solved. After the lessons there would be facultative opportunity to attend on film screenings, where we can get acquainted with the protection of environment through short films. We would like to build a solar collector from used aluminium drinking cans, which can be used to try to run a fruit dryer (in this mainly students from the engineering and wood industry branches would participate).
