Power Trip: North Atlantic Region Conference • Washington, DC • Wednesday, November 19th – Sunday, November 23rd • Student rate: $450 (quad); Advisor rate: $600 (double) • Registration Due: October 3rd, 2014 2. GRIT: Gumption, Risk, Intuition, Tenacity • NEW! Youth entrepreneurship program • GRIT shops: 4 workshops at each regional competition • GRIT Connections Conference: Saturday, May 23rd , Bay-Adelaide Centre • GRIT Camp: July 5th – 8th, TBD • Event registration dates will be emailed

Principles + Individuals + Teams • Each category refers to an industry • All cases have three classifications: • Career Clusters • Marketing • Business Management and Administration • Finance • Hospitality and Tourism • Typically corresponds with the type of test for the category • Exception: Principles Events write Business Admin. Core Exam • Exception: Personal Financial Literacy write Financial Literacy Exam • Career Pathway • Corresponds with indicators specific to careers relevant to the industry • Instructional Area • Corresponds with indicators specific to areas of knowledge

  13. GRIT Tank 2. PC: Preliminaries 3. ICDC: Provincial Qualifiers • Provincial competition only • 1 to 3 per team (cross-school teams permitted) • Prepare and submit 1-page executive summary of business venture • Present venture idea to a panel of judges for questioning • Only 3 spots to continue to international competition in one of three DECA categories: ENPI, ENPF, ENW, or ENI • Must develop a written venture plan based on the presented business idea to meet the criteria of these events • Increase chances to attend internationals: GRIT participants may also participate in a morning GRIT challenge for a chance to win 1 of 20 senior leadership spots
