  5. Multi-Age Classroom • A multi-age environment provides a strong sense of community • A multi-age classroom allows students to repeat experiences • A multi-age group provides peer interaction and encourages learning from each other

  6. Daily 5 • Read to Self • Read to Someone • Listen to Reading • Word Work • Writing • Students work independently on relevant reading skills while the teacher meets with individuals or small groups to focus on reading strategies.

Montessori Schedule and Homework • The most important way you can support your young student is to read with them. • Homework will include a monthly reading log, spelling practice as needed, and special projects. • Daily Schedule • 8:30- Montessori work cycle • 10:15- Morning recess • 10:30- Montessori work cycle • 11:25-Read aloud and Wash-up for lunch • 11:59- Lunch and Recess • 12:56- Daily 5 cycle • 1:40-2:30 Specials • 2:30 – Writing • 3:15 – Clean-up • 3:30 Dismissal
