  1. Colorful world of bridal dresses Admin by gbridal.com Whether vintage, red or short, wedding dresses come in all sizes, shapes and colors. With wedding season in full bloom, the consultants at Diane’s Dresses are always looking for the best options and trends for brides-to-be. Located in the heart of Wymore, Diane’s Dresses carries designer gowns at small-town prices. With over 3,500 dresses to choose from, the shop offers new selections from various designers and carries a wide selection of vintage bridal gowns. This is the dress shop's fourth year in business. “Twice a year, I hand-pick the samples that are shipped into our store for our customers to choose from,” owner Diane Creek said. Creek said she constantly is looking to stay up-to-date with current trends in the bridal industry. “I always know the trend about six months before it hits stores,” she said. The recent trends, she explained, stray away from the traditional white gowns many brides wear. “Gowns with color trend,” she said. “White is kind of out of style right now.” Dark champagne, ivory, blush and light blue are some of the most common colors seen on brides today. “I have sold a dark red dress before and we have a gorgeous white and black gown as well,” she said. The store is also awaiting oyster-colored gowns to be delivered. “Oyster has the potential to look many different colors,” Creek explained. “Some can look beige, others blush, and it just depends on the lighting.” Most colors are paired with lace overlays or beaded belts.

  2. Lace over lace is another new trend, Creek said. “The more lace and bling, the better!” she added. She said often veils and the edges on lace have beads and a lot of sparkles. Keyhole backs and straps are also what women are looking for recently, she said. Another style that has been popular this year: The rustic country look. “It’s a very popular style, leaning towards the non-traditional style and colors in the wedding,” she said. “Especially in Nebraska, I don’t see that trend going out anytime soon.” Wedding party colors have changed, as well. Blush pinks, mint, navy blue and coral all get paired with newer bridal styles, she explained. “It’s all different just enough -- the girls love it,” she said. Diane’s Dresses carries various plus size samples, to allow everyone to try on dresses they like. Typical dress length is measured for women 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10, Creek explained, but as people find gowns they like, alterations can always be made. And normally dresses fit up one or two sizes bigger. Diane’s Dresses also does custom orders, but recommends ordering about a year in advance. No appointments are necessary, but they are helpful, Creek said. “You can find great things in a small town with better service than the big chain stores,” she said.
