Limited Education: 50% of adults lack a high school diploma. 70% lack post secondary education. Poverty: 50% of our households are low-income. 1 in 3 households make less than $25,000 a year Savings: 50% of our clients have no savings and no financial cushion for emergencies Social Capital: lack of personal & professional networks make it hard to meet life challenges & find work

  5. Claudia Cifuentes First came to CONNECT for financial coaching. Enrolled in financial workshops and enrolled in the family self-sufficiency savings program Increased her credit score by 50 points through budgeting for paying off debt Re-enrolled in Bunker Hill college and graduated with an Associates in Accounting Will transfer to UMass Boston to complete her Bachelor’s and is actively saving for her son’s education “The biggest lesson that I have learned is to never give up. That no matter how hard things may seem, there is always a way forward.”
