  2. Definición • Neoplasia de linfocitos B • Alta agresividad • Asociación a infección por el virus Epstein-Barr • Virus herpes tipo 4 • Genoma: ADN • Virus linfotrópico • Asociado a neoplasias

  3. Epidemiología • Afecta sobre todo varones 1ª-2ª década • 40% de todos los linfomas en cabeza y cuello en niños • Puede desarrollarse en cualquier lugar donde haya tejido linfoide • Lugares predilectos: maxilar, mandíbula, abdomen

  4. Fisiopatología • Infección por VEB + traslocación cromosómica t (8; 14) (q24; q32) • Rearreglo del oncogén C-myc • Proliferación incontrolada de linfocitos B • Neoplasia

  6. Inmunología • Mecanismos de defensa frente a tumores: • Linfocitos T CD8 • Linfocitos NK

  7. Manifestaciones clínicas • Tumor • Movilidad dental • Dolor • Síntomas compresivos • Síntomas generales

  8. Diagnóstico • Historia clínica • Estudios radiológicos • Biopsia

  9. Aspecto de cielo estrellado

  10. Tratamiento • Quimioterapia • Supervivencia a 5 años: 75-95%
