  2. Isometricsportexercises • CVP was measured non invasively using controlled compression ultrasound of a forearm vein. floorrise abdominal crunch hip crossover floorrise

Results • All isometric manoeuvres resulted in a significant increase in CVP (p<0.01): • CVP at rest 7.1 ± 4.1 cmH2O • Abdominal crunch 12.2 ± 7.2 cmH2O • Hip crossover 20.6 ± 9.0 cmH2O • Floor rise 14.3 ± 4.7 cmH2O • Hip crossover showed a higher increase in CVP compared to AC (p<0.05) and FR (p<0.05)

P < 0.01 P < 0.01 Results • In this study we demonstrate a significant increase in central venous pressure during isometric provocation manoeuvres. • The highest increase was observed during “hip crossover”. These observations in healthy persons may be relevant in patients with congestive heart failure. • . • . P < 0.01
