  9. City of ScottsdaleSFR Workshop City Policy for REVEGETATION (Landscape) Submittal

  10. What is Re-vegetation? • Re-vegetation is the replacement and restoration of areas containing scarred or destroyed native vegetation through the introduction of boxed or planted native plant materials and/or comparable seed mix for the purpose of restoring NAOS land to a native condition.

  11. Natural Area Open Space • Areas of undisturbed natural desert with no man-made improvements and approved re-vegetated areas. • Encroachment into the required distances of man made structures from NAOS would in effect call for a re-vegetation plan to be submitted for plan approval prior to any improvements being made. (Utility Placement & Construction Access Included)

  12. DS&PM Requirements • NAOS easement may be located adjacent to site walls, driveways, parking area or similar construction as long as the first 5 feet of NAOS out from the improvement is re-vegetated, as provided in the ordinance. The NAOS easement shall be placed at least 5 feet away from a roofed structure, with the next 5 feet out from the structure being re-vegetated area.

  13. Indigenous Plants for Environmentally Sensitive Lands • The location and height of plants that are not on the list found on the City of Scottsdale website are regulated by ESLO (Section 6.1070.G.1.i in the Zoning Ordinance). The plants on the list are indigenous to Scottsdale but may not be appropriate for all locations. • The choice of plants for a specific site should be based upon whether the plants occur naturally within the area where the property is located.

  14. Re-vegetation Plan Exceptions • Certain developments have been approved by city council to carry the burden of monitoring proper re-vegetation (I.e. - Parts of Mirabel). • The exceptions must be supplied with the stipulations provided with written documentation at the time of the plan submittal and also supplied as site plan notes.
