  1. Project conception and structure Propose a long term plan for acquisition, conservation and exchange of plant material for long term conservation of genotypes at national and European level. Limit the redundancy of the germplasm collections. Decrease the number of errors and solve problems of homonymy and synonymy. Complement different conservation means adapted to different materials and scopes (ex-situ, in-situ, cryoconservation).

  2. Online Availability of data = reachable by everybody List of the European Grapevine resources Description of the Genetic resources IASMA IMIDRA DOPI BAZ IVV WP2 : I & II descriptors recording WP1 : SSR analysis WP4 : V. sylvestris characterisation WP3 : On-Farm analysis WP4 : Vitis sylvestris characterisation Publications : Scientific and technological WP5 : True-to-type confirmation WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment WP 7 :Organisation of safety duplication and preservation initiatives

  3. WP5 : True-to-type confirmation Coding data Comparing data IASMA Additional cultivars Choice of additional markers Testing and reference for new markers BAZ IVV WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment Producing data Entering data WP1 : SSR analysis 6 SSR available New SSRs

  4. Compilation of available data Available Data Transfer of data in the database IMIA BAZ WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment WP2 : I & II descriptorsanalysis New Data I & II descriptors (Genres) Aditional descriptors II Sanitary tests How many and which cultivars Autochtonous cultivars including eastern cultivars

  5. Agronomic data Oenologic data Inventory of available vineyars Sanitary status Confirmation by ampelography or molecular data WP1 : SSR analysis Evaluation of characteristics DOPI Choice of « virus-free » material Data dispersal by publication Promote old autochtonous cultivars to viticulture (Material & information) Conservation « on-farm » BAZ WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment WP3 : On-Farm analysis

  6. Identification of sites and populations Inventory of individuals Evaluation of preservation status WP1 : SSR analysis I & II Descriptors In-situ or ex-situ IMIA Molecular analysis WP2 : I & II descriptorsanalysis Agronomique evaluation résistance to biotiques & abiotiques stresses BAZ WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment WP4 : Characterisation of Vitis sylvestris Genetic resources

  7. Confirmation of identity of autochtonous cultivars Identification of synonyms et d’homonyms Molecular analysis = comparaison of SSRs profils Ampelography IMIA WP1 : SSR analysis WP2 : I & II descriptorsanalysis BAZ IVV WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment WP5 : True-to-type identification Draw a list of the main Synonyms and homonyms found in collections and misnaming One step further towards the definition of the list of genetic resources in Europe

  8. I & II descriptors pictures Updated passport data of Genres081 partners Molecular data = coded (?) and verified SSRs profils Coding of previous data into MCPD format Expansion with data from Eastern European On-farm maintenance = site data and secondary descriptors BAZ Vitis sylvestrisin-situ = site data primaryand secondary descriptors Molecular data WP6 : Database improvement and enrichment Improvement of database Establishment of a sustainable EU-Vitis-database

  9. On-farm conservation In-situ ex-situ Endangered cv Duplication in collection = Reintroduction or elimination Réintroduction Introduction in collection unique cv VS Highly repeated cv Other means Endangered cv VS Old cv cryoconservation of pollen & seeds VS, Vitis Preservation in greehouses unique cv Development of cryoconservation methods for buds Vv WP 7 : Elaboration of a long term conservation strategy = global managment organise a plan for the management of Vitis genetic resources.
