Friday, January 8, 2010 • Objective – Look at new Disco Artists of the 1970’s • Bell Ringer • This artist was known for her ‘powerhouse’ vocal sound, who is she? • Name one rhythmic pattern that is borrowed from Latin music and used in Disco? • Activities • Wrap up talks on The Jacksons, The Bee Gees and KC and The Sunshine Band

  2. Disco Stars and Other Notables • Believe it or not, The Temptations were not the only artists who worked in other musical genres. • The Supremes, Jimi Hendrix and The Jacksons were involved also.

  3. The Bee Gee’s • The Bee Gees • Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb • This group started as an adult soft rock group • They later transitioned into a more disco sound.

  4. The Bee Gee’s • Popular Hits include: • ‘How Deep is Your Love’ • ‘Stayin’ Alive’ • ‘Night Fever’ • The Bee Gee’s are known for their unique sound • High Pitched vocals • Disco style of music • Intricate instrumental mixing
