  2. Jobs, and main industries. • The Inuit depend mostly on hunting and fishing. Have sensitive ecosystems and limited biodiversity- a small amount of different plants and animals. Less then 20 species of mammals. • Because of the opportunities Canada has been having and the growth of exploration, many young Inuit’s have opportunities to train for jobs such as prospecting, mining, operating and maintaining heavy equipment, carpentry and administration. • Tourism has been also a growing industry, many people try to visit the beautiful place.

  3. How? Why? • Nunavik was created to form a self-government in the northern third of Quebec. • Part of Quebec, but will elect its own government to administer local services such as education and health care. • March 2008 the agreement came into force.Covers507 000 square kilometres north of the 55th parallel and home approximately 10 000 people.

  4. People, how they live and their ethnicity. • Home to approximately 10,000 people, mostly Inuit. 14 modern villages along the costal bay of Hudson Bay. • Many of the people normally speak English as a first language, but can speak French. • Climate change, population growth, easier and faster transportation and communications and urbanization have combined to change the traditional Inuit peoples way of life. • This region is dry year-round, with cool summers and very cold winters (like Alberta.) • The Inuit have developed effective strategies for living in the harsh conditions.

  5. Nunavik • I believe that it will first start to struggle, in order to make sure everyone can survive and gain enough food and jobs that are able to keep their lives prosperous. Hard to maintain a proper living space. I believe the flourishing will begin to expand when many people discover this new region. It’s a beautiful place, that everyone can be apart of.
