  2. Tips for New Mum to meet the Baby’s Requirements Amongst those ecstatic moments of joy of starting of new chapter of motherhood, the other aspect of this joy is that the body is weak and exhausted. For these reasons, the new mum requires sufficient rest, proper nourishment and so on. Yet the following tips will help you have the confidence to cross this initial phase with ease. Let’s explore the baby care tips to ensure the comfort and health of your newborn baby. Holding the Baby Right Pay Special Attention to Hygiene Gently Rock the Baby Baby’s Feed has No Time Be Tender During Playful Activities

  3. Holding the Baby Right Did you know that here’s a right way to hold the new born baby? Yeah! While holding the baby, you should ensure that the baby’s head doesn’t get jerk. So, ensure that the head rests on the crook of your arm and the hand should offer support to the spine of the newborn. With the other hand, you can pat, or use it to maintain the feed position and support your breast or simply keep it over the chest or tummy. Your touch creates a sense of comfort and security for the baby.

  4. Gently Rock the Baby There are times when the baby is in the state of discomfort. This may be due to their sleepiness or hunger or pain in stomach. Whether you are trying to get the baby to sleep or to comfort the newborn, do not shake the baby vigorously. This shaking might lead to brain injury. Put yourself into the habit of the rocking your baby gently from side to side. You may choose to sing a lullaby as well.

  5. Be Tender During Playful Activities You might have seen in people around you throwing children in the air or jiggling the baby on the knees. You may have been such a play toy yourself. But, the baby is not a toy and neither is ready for such tough game. Hence it is advised not to be rough and tough on the baby for a year and half.

  6. Pay Special Attention to Hygiene Not only you as a mother, but also those who touch the baby, should follow basic hygiene. Make sure that you wash or sanitize your hands before touching the baby unless you had not been doing any other task than being with your love.

  7. Baby’s Feed has No Time In the initial few weeks, the baby needs only three things – proper feeds, ample sleep and your special touch. A new born baby usually sleeps for around 16 to 20 hours a day. But, the sleep doesn’t happen at a single stretch. A child may demand feed every two hours or even sooner, hence the foremost responsibility of you as a new mum is to keep yourself ready for offering a feed to the baby, whenever the baby demands.
