A unit of computer memory or data storage capacity equal one thousand bytes. See Note at megabyte. • Gigabyte (gb) • 1. A unit of computer memory or data storage capacity equal to one billion bytes. • Byte • A sequence of adjacent bits operated on as a unit by a computer. A byte usually consists of eight bits. Amounts of computer memory are often expressed in terms of megabytes (1,048,576 bytes) or gigabytes (1,073,741,824 bytes).

  3. Computer Virus • A computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without the permission or knowledge of the owner.

  4. CPU • the part of a computer (a microprocessor chip) that does most of the data processing; "the CPU and the memory form the central part of a computer to which the peripherals are attached"
