  3. The need for a SWPB Program… • High level of restraints/ reentries in the building Disconnection among students, school and teachers A need to focus more on being proactive versus reactive A need to focus on the positives to increase complianceand cooperation.

  4. Self Monitoring • The goals are developed with a team approach. • Students monitor their behavior daily. • Explanations of guidelines for the program are kept simple- • It’s voluntary • Honor system • Cost for prizes and prize day • When prompts are removed and why

  5. School Store Students can request items. Cost of each item. Yes, this mess is in my office! And donations are graciously accepted!

  6. Student Feedback • “I like that we do good and it doesn’t go unnoticed” • “I like it because I’ve made a lot of progress with it” • “ I like how we are rewarded for good behavior. It feels good to know you’re doing good and someone acknowledges it!” • “I like that we all get to receive something for the good things that we have done and it’s fair for every one”

  7. Teacher Feedback • “It’s made a definite improvement. The kids really look forward to the rewards each week. The prompt to keep on task for the rewards 90% works the 1st time” • “that the students buy into it. They want to earn the prizes. The reward system is working out well. There’s a big variety of rewards which motivates the students”. • “It gives the students something to look forward to. It provides them with items they might not otherwise have access to in exchange for their good behavior”.
