Enabling Database Performance Tiering DB Classify Database Dashboard • Professional Services leverages a database tool called DB Classify for database analysis • DB Classify monitors and analyzes database I/O performance for both Oracle and SQL Server environments • DB Classify creates database policies for FAST VP and tiered storage (EFD, FC, SATA) • DB Classify inventories and stack ranks all Oracle and SQL Server databases based on usage Inventory all Oracle and SQL Server Databases Stack Rank by I/O and Build Use Case to Virtualize DB Classify Detailed I/O Wait Analysis Detailed I/O Wait Analysis for Oracle and SQL Server Model Database Processes for FAST VP, Flash, Fiber, and SATA

What are the two Service Offerings? • EMC Database Performance Tiering Assessment • For Oracle (or) SQL Server – Limited to 3 Databases • Comprehensive Detailed Database Performance Analysis • Most critical and performance sensitive databases • Builds strong ROI/TCO business case for Storage Tiering • Leveraging FAST VP, Flash, Fiber, and SATA • EMC Database Performance Tiering Residency • For all Oracle and SQL Server databases – Limited only by Time • Ensures DB Classify if running smoothly in the customer’s environment • Focused DB Performance Consultant and member of the DBA team • Completes Comprehensive Detailed Database Performance Analysis • Drives the faster adoption of intelligent Storage Tiering for databases • Provides a liaison between the DBAs and the Storage Admins • DB Classify is not a licensable product from EMC, and is only available thru Services

How can Residency Hours be consumed? • Consecutive – 160 Hours - delivered as 4 weeks consecutive • As Database Performance Residency Services • On-site, Back-to-Back, Re-up Every Month • As Database Layout Augmentation During Migration Services • For the duration of project – for example 3 months (12 weeks) • Resident is on-site, focused on DB migrations, member of DBA Team • Spread over 3 months – 160 Hours – delivered as (4) one week segments • As Database Performance Residency Services • On-site for 1 week intervals, start and end of each month • Similar to “unlimited” DB Classify usage by the DBA Team • Resident is on-site at the end of each month working with the DBAs • Resident ensures that the DB Classify installation is maintained • Resident delivers on specific tasks assigned by the DBA Team
