  2. Objectives • Identify the registration threshold for candidates and their campaign committees • Provide step-by-step instructions for registering with the FEC

  3. When & How to Register Raise or spend more than $5,000 on campaign: • Statement of Candidacy (FEC Form 2) • Filed by candidate within 15 days • Statement of Organization (FEC Form 1) • Filed by campaign committee within 10 days after Form 2 http://www.fec.gov/info/forms.shtml

  4. Statement of Candidacy • Candidate’s Name and Address • Office Sought • Identification Number • New or Amended • Party Affiliation • State and District To be assigned x X
